What Happens During an Appointment for Same Day Crowns?
Do you have a worn or decayed tooth that needs restoration? Same-day crowns made with CEREC technology allow you to have your tooth restored in one visit. At Jim D. Lassiter DMD, our dentists in Jay, FL, offer these crowns as a convenient option. But what can you expect when you come in for this treatment?
Tooth Cleaning
We need to make sure your tooth is free of plaque and bacteria before putting a crown on it. That involves giving it a thorough cleaning and removing damaged portions.
Enamel Removal
As with all crowns, we’ll need to take a slight amount of enamel off your tooth. This helps ensure that your new same-day crown will fit securely.
Digital Images of Your Mouth
CEREC crowns are custom-made for each patient. In order to do this, we need to take digital images. We use these images to produce a dental crown that looks natural and blends in with your surrounding teeth.
CEREC Crown Creation
Our dental team has a milling machine at our office that produces same-day crowns using CEREC technology. That means we don’t need to have a separate lab make your crown and have you come back in when it’s done.
Crown Placement
As soon as your crown is ready, we secure it to your tooth and make sure it fits comfortably. It should last for roughly 15 years or so with proper care!
